Exhaust port not centered!!!
« on: February 13, 2012, 03:19:17 PM »
2008 kx250f/92-500
Got in contact with Jfab and rails on the way!
Cut my frame rails and prepped.
Drilled my pivot with 43/64 and the fit is perfect.
Fine tuned the outer swingarm spacers :? to get a nug fit for the rear engine/swing arm/frame. Installed my motor to get a feel for the final cut for the correct height for the exhaust pipe and !!!!!!!!!!

My exhaust port is about an 1/8 of an inch off center to the left of the front frame down tube. Is this normal? I dont think I have enough to trim in the swing arm spacers to compensate. Chain alignment looks O.K.

Any suggestions.
NO PICS YET COMMING SOON (CAMERA DOWN)

I took a look at my unfinished project and my outlet is split evenly.
So I looked at the possibilities.
Bent frame
Bent pivot pin
Misaligned holes in the engine cases.
Oblong holes in the frame.
What else could it be?
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

does it line up if you slacken all the bolts up? if not, twisted frame would be a possibility.K.
And lo, I did loft the front wheel and carried it forth to the unbelievers, and cast it down before them and said unto them ''look now upon the might of my throttle control ye pitiful cretinous ones''
And the unbelievers did quake in their boots....

The reason they make frame jigs?

Frame go "boing" when you made last cut?

I've done a couple on hondas, so keep that in mind but... Your worrying to much, it doesnt have to center in the crotch of the Y. Undo the 2 lower bolts with just the swinger bolt in place loose, Then take the case & just raise it up & down & make sure it fits smoothly in between the other to mounting points. As long as it will pivot into the other 2 mounts smoothly your ok. I'll bet the factory steel frame bike doesnt center the pipe perfect. Sprocket alignment is the key
if I only had a pair, I could actually ride this thing

& to the people I like  FYYFF

Verified frame is straight. Found the culprit, bad drill on the swing arm thru cases! All squared up and O.K. Amazing how small difference in the angle made a huge difference in the front!

Waiting on rails from JFAB. Its been almost a month , hope all is well.

Thanks for all the support. Full pics on build soon!
