compession test results oponions required
« on: January 08, 2012, 06:18:41 AM »
Hi guys im getting a bit paranoid about how long till i change the piston ring ,i did a compression test with my snap on tester so it should be pretty accurate, on average its running at about 190 psi  (tested cold with throttle wide open) bearing in mind its a sinlge ring wiseco style piston(kawasaki works item) the piston shows signs of carbon past the ring ,as its a engine out to change the ring as its so tight in the ali frame im keen to leave it in ....any input appretiated ta :-D

I would pull it apart, inspect it, then replace the piston and rings just for peace of mind...   8-)
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.
