I have been trying to get my bikes ready for the local Sand Drags this Sunday & thought all was good. Took the bikes to a friends place that has a grass runway to test. Pulled the 125 out of the trailer first gassed her up & made a few runs & when I arrived back noticed the right radiator is spewing out the front. Unloaded the 250 gassed it up, brought the kicker up to TDC & gave a kick. Sheared of the kick start SHAFT. My buddy pulled out his mule after a few failed attempts to bump start (PITA with a Paddle Tire) and I held on to it &
finally got it started. It was breaking up in the middle, acting like an ignition problem.
Finally pulled the K5 (its not setup for drags) out and made a few runs with it, and know I need to find more with this one to be competitive
After the initial frustration of having a Bad Day I realized it was actually a Good Day as it happened prior to the races & I believe that I have a spare radiator for the 125 & know I have a spare starter shaft, & electrics for the 250. Now I need to get busy tomorrow, as I promised the wife we were going to the Lake Festival Saturday.
