thats a good point that the material being fastened to makes a big difference as to what torque should be, as aluminum will strip out very easy, as well as brass. the alldata site that bdi has is great and is an awesome tool. i have it installed at work and can use it at home as well. i agree that bike specific manuals should be used for critical components but in alot of applications a general "to size" torque chart would work well.
