K5 Compression Release
« on: March 19, 2009, 03:22:13 AM »
Does anyone have any experience with this? I am wondering if it's worth it. All the reviews I have read say it's awesome.

Kind of reviews I guess. I sent my jug off Friday to get this installed. I will let you all know how it works out.

Good luck.  They've had mine for nearly two months.  I'm calling them today to try and get it sent back, unharmed.

It took Accu-Products a month to complete this however they had to send it out and have it replated. Here are some pics of the compression release. They did an outstanding job.

In my opinion you are going to lose a good bit of power since that much area has been taken out of the cylinder wall.  If it can be done, the best place to put the decomp valve in the head.  Heck, if you can not start a k5 then should you be riding it?

No doubt it would be better in the head.  Sometimes the best option isn't available.  From the few reports that I've read from people who have these, they all seem to be happy with them.

I can start a 500 but my knee doesn't appreciate it much.  I'm not a racer so every ounce of HP isn't necessary.  Happy knees are.
