This is a cool gearing and speed calculator it takes some patience to figure it out but It's worth the effort. You need to know your primary drive ratio that is the gears on the crank and clutch basket. Thanks to Stewart I can give you that ratio. The primary ratio that you need to enter is 2.692 .   You have to enter 1 thru 5 gear ratios as the number of teeth on the gear sets that make up each gear. 1990 on gears are as follows, first 32/16, second 26/18, third 26/22, fourth 21/11 and fifth 19/24   The rest of the information that you need you should all ready know but if not, then just ask... I submited all the k5 specs to these guys and hopefully It will be added in a couple of days and then you will be able to get it from the drop down list.

The kx500 has ben added to the drop down bike list. I cant beleive now one has used this or responded in any way. This is very cool If you wanted to use your bike to go tractor pulling or set land speed records This will take the geuss work out of gear selection. I plan to use it to go top my bike out on a dry lake bed.

I had a look at it and its very good, There used to be an Exel spreadsheet that did exactly the same in the downloads section on here but I can't even find the downloads section today to show you :?

Anyway, I have it copied to my hard drive, one of the handy parameters in it is that you can change the tyre size and aspect ratio so it even tells you your gearing for supermoto wheels.

I would have replied but as I already had something that did pretty much the same thing I didn't.

This program is helping me BIG TIME.... Trying to figure out a sprocket combo to work with both dirt and motard... (trying not to have to change front sprokets).. just have 2 diff rear sprockets and chains...

Primary Ratio
You say 2.692
They say
2.538

which is correct? as I dont have a clutch hub and gear here to count...
