Knurling

On a gasket thread the subject of knurling the cases came up.  any thoughts, or horror stories?  Does it become nessicary after boosting compression? :|

I have never heard of doing that to a gasket surface.  Knurling would be terrible. Gaskets rely on large pefectly flat surfaces to seal, hence why lapping helps such a great deal. Knurling would destroy that. Cam.

Ive had pistons Knurled to bring them back to spec with good results in applications pistons wernt available at the time for...

Do not damage the gasket surface.
