Ice and power lines don't mix. Day 5 no power, no work. Tue I drove to the southeast side of Dallas, 8 and 1/2 hours round trip, and bought a 6500 watt Honda generator. Didn't think about needing to make a power cord. No plug ends left in OKC at any hardware stores. I did find one at Grangers for 37 dollars. I was standing in line at the hardware store and this guy says "Now we know how they felt in New Orleans during Katrina". I didn't say anything, just thought how good we have it, I mean, I can get in my truck and go to an area that has power and get the things I need. In New Orleans you were lucky if you made it on top of your house. Even with all the problems I/we are having I am still thankful. Last night a 19 year old pregnant girl died from exhaust fumes from a genarator outside. It was on the front porch but to close the the house. The way the roof was shaped it funnelled the fumes into the house somehow. Thinking about it, she probably had the door open for the power cords coming into the house. The power company is hoping to have the power up in 8 days but says most likely it will be 10 days.
This sucks real bad, all the time in the world and no where to work on the the K5 street legal conversion.
