500 Questions. What Tank is This?
« on: March 17, 2007, 08:56:56 AM »
Hey guys. I have an 88 KX5 motor and it needs a home. I was wondering if the swingarm/rear end and front end from an earlier model KX5 would fit an 88 frame? Are there any differences in the KX5 chassis over the years? I may be able to pick up the '88 rear end but is it under par compared to the late model KX5 stuff?

The KX 250 USD front end fits with only the changing of the steering stem right?

What is the best KX500 tire combo for loose dirt/hardpack fire roads and some muddy trails? Basicly the best all terrain setup?

Will protaper ATV bend bars fit the KX5 clamps? Will they be too wide and tall?

Are there any differences in the gas tanks between years? These two are different, one being slightly shorter.

Anyone have pics of a ZIP Ty gas tank and shrouds mounted?
