range on an ims desert tank?

i just got a gps(still figuring it out)..i have run my tank REAL LOW 
 :-D but that was on accident..do any of you know the range on a tank(3.2gal?)...don't want to find out that it'll go 60miles and i'm on a 70 mile loop

i doubt you will make a 70 mi loop.
i am getting about 45 mi on a tank running at about 3rd gear. higher gears i could get more. also stock bikes get much better fuel ecconomy.

Single track uses much more fuel per mile than two track. My IMS tank, I believe is 3.6 gallons and I can easy do 77 miles with fuel to spare on two track. That mileage drops a lot when I am on single track. I would not hesitate to try a 50 mile loop on single track.  John

3.6 gal sounds right...the clarke is 3.9, but sticks up way too much
