First ride after being off for a while
« on: September 13, 2006, 05:32:32 AM »
I finally got the time (now that schools open) and good weather to get back on the KX. It felt great to get back on after breaking my ankle. The ankle got a little swelled but felt pretty good overall. I did 10 laps on the kids practice track (about 8 miles). Not much jumping though.

Good Deal. Over the holiday weekend I rode my bike for the first time in 2 months and man it felt good. We are cooling down here with some rain moving in and out and it just right for riding.

5d:  I know the feeling, always good to get back on the bike and get away.  I rarely find myself thinking about anything (like home, work, stresses...) when I am riding.  Take it easy and keep the ole ankle elevated and iced as much as you can immediately after the ride, even 5 minutes will do wonders!

Its cooling down here finally too and the season is getting ready to ROCK!!!  Can't wait to put the KX5 through its paces this season.

My son actually got me to get back on the bike. I said to him a couple days ago that I did'nt know if I was going to ride anymore, He replied that as long as he was my son I'd have to ride. I thought that was pretty cool. He's at that age that It's not cool to do things with old people.

It sounds like you've done a good job with him.

You don't stop riding because you get old; you get old because you stop riding.  My dad is 67 and fired up to go throw some sand this weekend!
