Bolt Mod Alternative Question
« on: November 10, 2019, 05:41:28 PM »
Hello,

I've read a lot about the bolt mod to fix the valves from over closing but I've also seen a video on youtube where the the exhaust valves are lined up in the closed position (flush not overclosed).  Then the shaft with the timing marks is installed after the bolt on the other side of the cylinder has already been screwed in.

Is this a good alternative or will this mess up the power valve operation?

youtube video about 7 minutes in is the part I am referencing : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjTFXqWl3n0

You will need to fit a 4mm aprox/ stopper spacer on primary side of kips rod/ or the open position will be wrong { :-D over open}
 i made one from a little nut/ drill the centre to size so it a tight fit on kips rod/ grind the outsde and locite it in position /simple  :-)

Once you get the fully opened position correct {with locking screw tight} you can fine tune the closed position with kipps bolt {shims or washers}
check my old post here to see  the stop/nut   BLACK  ARROW bottom timber  point to nut/stop
