Rear Wheel Offset
« on: October 11, 2018, 09:07:31 AM »
Hey all, new guy here. I’m rebuilding a 91 KX500 and currently lacing Excel A60s to the stock hubs (18 inch in the rear). The bike came with some junk warp 9s on it, and the stock wheels were torn apart so I couldn’t get the offset. Excel said it’s 26.5mm. Can anyone confirm this is correct, or is it a general measurement? Also, is that 26.5mm to the right of center towards the brake side?

I laced and trued the rear last night and I ended up being at about 13mm offset to the brake side. It looks like the tire would be very close to the swingarm on the drive side, and probably get at up by a loose or worn out chain.

Also, if anyone could post a picture of their rear wheel in the swingarm, so I can see the left/right alignment/offset, that would be greatly appreciated.
