1994 kx125 motor in 1998 kx250 frame?
« on: April 19, 2017, 11:15:43 AM »
Have a chance to pick up a 1994 kx125 motor with all running gear (wiring, carb, exhaust, etc), and also know of a 1998 rolling frame. Would the 125 fit in the 250 frame? Thanks in advance.

You can technically make anything fit if you do enough fabrication, but I don't think this would work without a lot of welding. The 250 frame goes more straight down then back, while the 125 angles back while going down. You would need to make new motor mounts, adjust the pipe, and possibly work on the airbox.  It might make more sense to try to find a 125 roller to work with. That's just my 2 cents.
Perhaps I have a dirt bike addiction?

The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.
