KX500 AF!
« on: March 30, 2017, 02:24:39 AM »
Hello Lovely people on this forum...

I have ridden the old kx500's and raced them like my dad did. Being 21 and full of life i decided to maybe try bring the kx5 back in the AF format!

Madly i bought one last night half finished.. this is where i need some in put / advice..!

I would like an alloy tank made to fit so i dont have to heat the the plastic tank and push the tap out the way of the spark plug. (i have already ordered a shortie spark plug)

It has over sized alloy rads which the steering hits at full turn? Anyway to sort this or just sell this rads and go back to standard?? *it came with just alloy rads)

Also would like to know of anyone who can machine or has machined a shorter kick start to fit the bike properly.

So in summary.. I need a alloy tank making or some where i can purchase one *frame is an 07 kxf250*

Kick start machined?

And to know about how to approch my rad problem.

I will keep you guys up to date with photo's...

Shes is a beauty and has the convestion kit bought from the USA so its a top notch job already...

Just need the extended the wires to the CDI and the bits ive mentioned.

It already has Talon wheels and a sexy CR500 AF Gnarly FMF pipe from CALI USA.

Any help is appertained and welcomed! thank you for you time

*i am UK based but may purchase good aboard*

Don't change the kick starter, you can take the side cover off and then machine/grind down the return stopper so it rotates slightly further forward and away from the frame, it takes a little work but is worth it. I tried to modify my standard kickstarter and it just broke after about 10 kicks, those starters are put through some tough kicking to start the big girl

Good tip...
Never heard of that one..

Another good tip... Get the Compression release mod on your head.
It will save your leg, kicker lever, and the whole start mechanism.
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.
