Had a kx450 16 model fully striped down to the bare frame , someone might be interested that it weighed close to 8.5 kgs or approx 19 lbs , seen the 17 crf 450 frame over the 20 lb mark , interesting to is the titanium fuel tank is barely lighter then the plastic one , i bet it cost a lot more to buy.

It's funny that I'm in the salvage business and never really paid attention to frame weight until I ship one 
I recorded your info and will start keeping track of others.

On the tank weight I'm not surprised.
Back in the late 70's all the manufactures were going to Aluminum Swingarms.
I wanted a aluminum swingarm for my 79 RM250 because I thought it was lighter.
The reality is, most of the aluminum swingarms weighed more then the steel ones

Instead of throwing money away making titanium tanks the manufactures would be way better off using titanium fasteners.
You would probably shave 5 lbs or more off the bike and it would be cheap as most of the fasteners are readily available.
Oh, but that isn't as flashy as a titanium tank.

your dead right blaster. i my self record stuff like that , even have books on all the modifications i ever done and any thing i find else where , it does come handy , as it to much to remember , suspension valving , i record every shock and fork valving , why i had to take other people specs out and start again to see what they done , rang race tech here in aust to get oem specs , claim they didn,t have them , so i record it myself . The jap companies dont give out that info either but my 98 ktm 200 manual has the full shock valving in it which surprised me , i bet they dont do that any more?
