So I just read this whole thread to see you sold your KX5SM and you lived in Washington State.  I just bought a 99 KX500 last year rode it once before doing the Desert 100 last year where I crashed 2 times pretty good because I couldn't feel my fingers after 30 miles.  After breaking my leg and pushing the bike 1.5 miles remaining in the race I have finally got the itch to ride some more or maybe convert to a SM.  What do you think the total price is to convert?  I wish I would have seen yours for sale.

No ad. Made him an offer he couldn't refuse...  :-)
The wheels and tires brake pieces were around $1200, Lighting kit was around $350 maybe? Lighting stator was $500 or so. There were other pieces but that is the major stuff. The biggest thing is the time spent routing wires and putting all the pieces on. Best of luck!
