Theres a tab/ear at the top and 2 tabs/ears at the bottom of the plate,so you have to fabricate some brackets. When you get the new plate youll see what I mean, but it shouldnt be to tough to adapt it to the 500.

I just bought a ufo vented #plate(94-03) for my 91.The top hole has a long opening for the top bolt so that it's adjustable between years I guess. I haven't thought of a way to mount the bottom yet but it sits in the dip in the fender so I think it should be fine.

If you find out how to attach the bottom let me know. Not looking at the # plate you have maybe tie-straps or does the # plate stay put during riding? Thanks.
