Steering Spindle
« on: May 08, 2012, 02:01:12 PM »
Need a little help.... I have 98 KX with a bent lower fork clamp.   I purchased a 98 KX 250 lower fork clamp assembly thinking it would be the same...unfortunately, the 250 uses an aluminum spindle that is larger in diameter than the steel spindle where the bearings mount.  The point where the spindle is attached to the lower fork clamp is the same diameter....SOOOOOOOO how does the spindle attach to the lower fork clamp??  I need to remove the aluminum spindle and replace it with my steel spindle so that I can use the fork clamp from the KX 250....is the spindle press-fit or threaded to the lower fork clamp?

Alex,

Thanks for the info....doing some "looking" on Youtube...I found a vid on pressing the spindle out.   How much would you want for the lower clamp?
