V-Force or Boyesen Rad Valve or just Reeds?
« on: February 05, 2012, 07:00:44 PM »
Just wondering if anyone has any experience running V-Force 2 or 3, Boyesen Rad Valve on their KDX? Not sure which way I want to go. Was just going to replace the reeds but figured I'd check and see what everyone prefers to run. I'm looking for more overall power than in on particular area of the powerband.

Also if anyone knows the performance difference between Boyesen Super Stock, Power, and the carbon fiber versions of both?

In my opinion if you are for sure wanting to go after market, I would go for the v-force. They are a little bit harder to adjust but usually you just get them and throw them in and your good to go. Now it won't add an over all huge boost in performance but it will make the throttle a little more snappier and a little more consistent. But if you're not looking for after market and still want to stay stock, you can snag the boyesen super stock reeds and throw them in the stock reed cage. Here's a place I like to use that I get most of my intake stuff from. http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/t/44/54/213/1151/Intake  On this website after you click on one of the products you can scroll down and it will usually tell you the difference like how you're wondering the performance differences between the super stock, power, and carbon fiber ones.

I've actually been leaning more towards the V Force. For the simple fact that I talked to Stewart for an hour a couple years ago now and he told me all kinds of stuff about different reeds. He recommended V Force 2 IIRC for the k5.

Still waiting for my tax return but that is on the list along with a new intake boot. Mine is on the verge of sucking air or just plain falling off.

Thanks for the reply I actually forgot I posted this. :P
