Kips valves question.
« on: January 09, 2012, 03:59:53 AM »
I got my cylender back and I put the exhaust valves in. I lined the puch marks to the kips rod. With them alined the valves are not closed.
If I back off the bolt for the rod they will close like they should. I can shim the bolt to where the valves just close off and wont over rotate when full open.
Will this be Ok??

I have been going threw the files and reading up on the Kips but everything is about over rotating the valves.

I would think that with the valves and rod lined up that the valves would be closed when rod is all the way in.

BTW sorry to bring this up again.

Thank Kurt

Hey Dave.

Thats a good wright up. Yes I did set it up like it said. I have the Stewert bolt for the Kips rod. Once I put everything together in the head it finely looked right and I understood what was going on.

Thanks Kurt
