Swingarm Bearing Seals
« on: November 11, 2010, 12:52:09 PM »
I just removed the bearings from the swing arm on my 86 and like a noob, didn't take a picture of how they were in there and didn't measure the depth of the bearings from the lip. It seems the seals have 2 sides, one that would fit flush against the bearing sleeve and the other side is a little recessed the bearing sleeve would fit into. It seems to me the the interior seals should be flush with the swing arm when installed, but when I pressed them in flush, they don't "stick" in and will fall back out onto the rod. Anyone have any advice? The clymer is a little vague in the picture deptment on this matter. It seems there isn't enough room for the sleeve and both seals to sit flush on both sids of the swingarm legs, will everything just snug up when I reattach the swing arm back to the bike?
