Testing compression

Hi, Im wondering about how many times kicking for a compression test, 10 kicks gives me about 110 on my 02 kx 125, I know spec is 180. any help?

Did you have the throttle wide open when you kicked it?

Also,  for accurate data, be certain the cylinder is lubricated .  If it was recently running - O.K.,   if  it was apart or sitting up for a long time - spray or squirt a small amount of lubrication in the cylinder, then recheck

Been track and trail riding weekends just a bit worried, hadnt had the kx long and dont know when was the last rebuild. The bike looks new!

No certain number of kicks. Hold the kill switch down, hold the throttle wide open, and kick until the needle stops. Do it to 3 times and average your results.

Put a new top end on it then. Skirts of stock pistons can show cracks in as little as twenty hours. Just because it has good comp does not mean it does not have cracks. If I was the type of person to worrie about that type of stuff I would put a new piston and rings in it and an hour meter, then start counting hours.
