« on: February 09, 2010, 03:08:18 PM »
I am looking for the cheapest place to buy a kickstarter for the almighty KX500.  The cheapest I can find online is dgy for $82.52.  Does anyone know of a cheaper place to buy?

Thanks in advance...

Just keep trying ebay I've seen them sell as cheap as $20    Look in the listings where people have a box of assorted parts too.

I bought one from cheapcycleparts.com and it was a couple dollars less.  I bought one for a newer bike though it fight the same but was made better in the pivot.  I watched ebay for months for a spare and gave up and bought the new one.  I saw people paying 100 and over for used

I think I remember a post suggesting how we could mount up 2003 kickstarter mech, if needed replacing b/c they all fit shaft and are shinier or something. :x if you end up buying new, put in 03 on fiche. couldn't find post link

And lo, I did loft the front wheel and carried it forth to the unbelievers, and cast it down before them and said unto them ''look now upon the might of my throttle control ye pitiful cretinous ones''
And the unbelievers did quake in their boots....

the new kickers are built alot stronger-heavier than the old ones. The last one I replaced was off my 92 and the new kawi part was beefier, so look for one off a newer model.CBX
Yep, you can ride it - if YOU can start it !!
