Glad you made it hear Slim.  There are quite a few guys that are into drag racing 500's here.  Give us a little more info. as to where you're running and what the track is so hopefully some guys can help you out.
America is all about speed. Hot, nasty, bad-ass speed.

Hey guys  ive raced at Slades park in surry county and Newtown dragway. Hopefully will get a chance to visit  other tracks this year. Im still learning to ride my beast it runs pretty good when i can keep the front end out the sky. Most of the time i ride the tank but it kills my 60 ft.  [Needs are side clutch cover, plastic side cover, and ideas on how to launch this5.5 in.extended 10 paddle beast.] :? :?

Welcome Slim,
Hopefully some more drag guys will chime in as far as set-up and launch sequence.  As a play rider the only things I can think of to help soften the launch would attempt to get the power valve to kick in later and/or swap some gearing.
I'm sure you've probably already tried a third gear start.
For the most part the guys here who do race have been alot more open sharing their information than I have seen in some other forums.
