Thought I would start a thread about parts places on the Internet. Since OEM parts can be "kind of" expensive, I look around a bit to see if I can get it any cheaper. Don't get me wrong, I support my local dealer, but sometimes th wallet doesn't.
Anway, with the total rebuild of my '93 K5 happening this winter, I a few months gathering parts I thought I would need. Of all that I bought, these items have come in the most handy and have saved me a couple of hundred bucks!
and suprisingly, I got them off eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&mfcisapicommand=ViewItem&item=2452574891Engine Oil Seal Kit. This has a boat-load of seals, including 2 of the seals behind the countershaft spocket. Good deal.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&mfcisapicommand=ViewItem&item=2454000237Athena Gasket Kit. This rocks. The picture doesn't do it justice. There is way more gaskets and o-rings in the kit than is shown. Even had the o-rings for the powervalve guides! If it comes it again (which it does frequently), I recommend you get it
No link for this one, but 220 piece fastener kit. The good one comes with the case and some anti-seize lube. the crappy ones don't. I paid $30 for mine and most of the bolts are grade 10+ (some are 8.
. Watch for that one and get it.
I also frequently buy parts from these places on the Net.
http://www.rockymountainmc.comGood selection, great customer service and excellent prices. A+
http://www.denniskirk.comexcellent selection, crappy customer service and prices are too high, but Rocky doesn't carry UFO
So, care to share where you order your parts/accessories/gear from?
