why is my rebult shock so soft?

so i just replaced the seal head in my shock. changed the oil and recharged it,yet it is super soft and springy. i adjusted the clickers(there almost all the way tight). we adjusted the sag of the spring. what should i look for or do next?

What psi of nitrogen do you have it set at, how much oil, what kind.  These will help diagnose the problem.

sounds like some debris stuck between valve stack. If you go in on compression 3-4 clicks you should be able to feel a considerable difference just by pressing down on the seat.?.? If hardly any difference I would assume trash between a shim or shims holding the valve stack open which will cause little or no damping.

my friend said he put in 250psi,i dont remember what the wieght of the shock oil(thou i know it was shock oil ). im going to pull it back apart and check it out.

first off 250 psi is to much nitrogen pressure, should be in the 150 to 190 range, having said that you have other problems I'm thinking maybe you didn't get all the air bled out of the shock and bladder. To much psi usually makes it stiffer.

If ANY air is left in the shock during the service, Very Bad things can happen. Ex Local Pro rider did an oil change himself (brought it to the shop for Nitrogen) and went to the races that weekend. He did not get all of the air out & after about 10 laps the bladder cap was blown off from the air being heated up. It destroyed the shock, & luckily no one was hurt.

the wierd thing is when i talked to my friend(the dude that rebuilt it)he kind of got all edgie when i told him(very nicely) that the shock was having issues. he reluctenly agree to look at it again. kind of crazy

so we pulled the  shock apart, all looked good. we replaced the spring and it seems to be alot stiffer. i wil have to ride it but i hope that fixed my problem
