If you didn't have any pink slip or title records, the DMV would do a VIN verification.  Depending on which office you go to, they have an inspector come out and read the frame and engine VIN.  Then they process a new title for you.  You might get sent to a  CHP office if the DMV decides not to do it.

Where are you?  I just had this done on a KDX at the San Clemente DMV.

I'm not sure what they would say about your pink slip.  I assume you have a separate bill of sale for your transaction.  Should be OK.

I WOULD NOT WHITE OUT THE BACK IF U HAVE A BILL OF SELL IN UR NAME. AS LONG AS THE BIKE DOES NOT COME BACK STOLE,THERE SHOULD BE NO BIG PROBLEMS. THEY WILL PROBLEY HAVE U FILL OUT A "STATEMENT OF FACTS" ABOUT HOW U CAME TO OWN THE BIKE. JUST  KEEP IT SIMPLE AND EVERYTHING SHOULD GO SMOOTH. GOOD LUCK
lets ride

Any white out, write over or erasing on a title in Oklahoma is considered a fraudulent document.
Off road vehicles were not titled in Okla. until 2005.  2004 or earlier all you need is a notarized bill of sale and a $25 one time fee to get a title.
