Not sure about the quality of this unit , but I had very similar "factory" unit on my sons BW KX80 and it worked great  also had a swingarm mounted version on my K2 it worked well also but the spring broke and I had to find a replacement spring at the hardware store. Just my thoughts.
Yep, you can ride it - if YOU can start it !!

I bought one for my 02 KX250.  It's a decent part other than:

1- the spring is sort of weak
2- the leg itself is make of thin wall tubing

Right now, I have a bent leg on mine.  I asked the guy if he could make them out of heavier material but he said no.

Take a look at the ones that bolt on to the swingarm.  They are MUCH heavier and won't break.

I think I got mine from Utah Power Sports or something.  Rocky Mtn might have them too.

I have one for my KX500 and one on a KX85.  The 85 had issues constantly breaking the spring.  I put one on from a trampoline and it's been good ever since.  The one on the 500 has never had an issue.

I'm using the swingarm mount type and am very satisfied so far. It's very sturdy, stays put, and holds the bike up just right.

At $76 dollars, ProMoto Billet stands are twice that price but you only buy them once.
