tragic mx-accident
« on: June 27, 2009, 06:15:13 AM »
just of today a fatality occured on our local mx track,
a young boy was hit from behind ,just after he felt off his bike ,that was behind a big jump.
he appeared to be in a coma, and i was the first rider that came through after the accident.

i inmediately called 911 and requested for an ambulance to come in a greatest hurry,
holding the boy stabile till medics arrived, the parents and other riders came by.
we united kept the boy free for possible choking or else, and the medics took over real soon after.

by then ,he still gave not a single lifesign and we all knew by a look at the scene he passed out on us .

may this 18 year old boy rest in peace ..

for his parents all the best wishes and strenght to deal with this terrible accident.

for the rider who jumped upon the boy and must deal with that for his life being.

for all the dutch young boys who mostly start totally new to the sport

to all fathers, warn your sons ,when they fall behind a jump,
get out of there  leave the bike and crowl ,run ,walk out of there !

i had to share this with you guys ,knowing it helps me to tap my emotions before i go to sleep
this is in 22 years the 1st time i whitnessed an mx fatality i was,i am shocked..

the training sessions ended then and there ,
the race next wednesday is not done, and will be held on another date .

It's a great that you called 911 and responded so fast Menno!
Maybe it feels like you havend done your best. But If you ask me Menno you
HAVE done the best thing to do!!!!!!

Don't know if it's just me, in Holland you hear more and more of series accidents and even fatal ones.

Won't do the sport any good, especialy the sporters!!!

Good thing you've got KXRiders Menno
