Delima in kaw town

So my dude is now 7 and he has outgrown the kx60.  Sizewise and powerwise.  So, I'm thinking on moving him upto a kx100.  How do they do for power, much more than an 80?

My Daughter is 5 and has outgrown her little Chinese 49cc automatic 2 stroke.  She has been riding it for one year now, and has a major need for speed.  She needs a seat hieght of about 24-25", so I was thinking maybe an XR50.  HOwever, I saw a KLX110 that had the little rims on it.  DId they make a little wheel/big wheel 110 like the 80's?   I would prefer her to move on to a 4 stroke, she has a bad habit of running through the field cranking the throttle on and off.

I have outgrown my yzf400, and am thinking I still want a KX500.  The 400 has super torque and is easy to ride, I'd hate to give that up for a balls out 2 stroker, but I need the rush.  The 400 runs awesome, but I miss the powerband.

Anyone have any advice for a lost soul in kawtown?

Well, my plans like that seem to last forever and then I just jump on the first good bike to come along and the plans fall to pieces. Why not 60 to 85 for the little guy? Then when he grows a little more put bigger wheels and a pipe on it. I think that kx 100 is salty. The ones I saw were always alot more than deals I found on big wheel 85 s.
The girl seems ready for the 60 and you and everyone else needs a 500. BUT, 2 strokes are made to rip. if you get time to really tear up some stuff up,and the money to maintain everything then the 500 is the cream de la cream. Otherwise, its easy to putt the 4strokes like the xrs. 4wheelers are good family friendly ride too.
I leave my 500 in the garage when taking newer riders out for practice. Me riding it easily around just loads it up. Something to keep in mind...

What's your budget?  That makes a world of difference.

Get your boy the tallest bike he can tippy toe on.  He'll grow into it quickly.  I got my boy a KX85 when he was 7, coming off a PW80.  He's quite a big kid for his age and I still had to lower the suspension and cut the seat foam.  He's 12 now and goes 5'4" and about 170.  He can ride the living wheels off of that 85 now.  (In fact, he can start and ride my 250.)  The 85 and 100 are the same bike with the exception of the wheels and cylinder.  I punched our 85 out to 100 and put a flywheel weight on it.  All we do is ride woods.

The KLX110 is one awesome bike.  I found one for a friend to buy for his 9 yr old son.  It's the same size as  PW80 but seems to be built heavier.  I like the PW80 because it's MUCH easier to kick start, as are most two strokes.  Oh, the PW80s are cheap as they've been made for about 100 years or so.

As for yourself, a 500 is a pretty mellow bike, a lazy man's bike.  Put it in 2nd or 3rd and you rarely ever shift.  They have great low end and midrange.  Have you ever ridden one?  I'll take one over a 4 stroke ANY day.  If it's jetted right, it'll idle and ride slow in the woods and never foul a plug.
