Replacement gas tank for 1984-5 KX125
« on: May 23, 2008, 01:02:50 AM »
hi, I found a nice 84 kx125 for sale.. needs plastic all the way around from discoloration but the bike seems to have very little wear on it mechanically.  The tank is in horrible condition and I wanted to know if anyone is aware of a NOS or aftermarket replacement I can buy.  I don't want one of the big enduro tanks, I want to keep it stock.
thanks.

I know of a whole bike for sale, here in indiana. We rebuilt the top-end recently for a Buddy of mine's son. It ran around the yard, but the crank seals are bad. She smoked alot. So my buddy parked it. He recently tried getting it running again, but couldn't get a spark. The whole bike is there, but needs alot of things worked on to make it right. Drum brakes dragging, clutch plates keep sticking, of course now there's no spark. The timing may good for a low price, too. He's pretty frustrated with it and would like to get something else for his boy. It has some goodies, like Ohlin shock, undented pipe, FMF I think, Still chrome lookin piston, and fresh plated cylinder, all plastic, seat and tank is there. We race in Illinois frequently also, and will be in Ohio for National Hillclimb.

The bike is running again. Rear drum brake is working. The pipe/silencer is actually DG pipe. Clutch is working again. All  the plastic and bike is complete. We had to get a new ignition box for it, and now runs alot better. It must have had a weak spark before. Still looking at parts for yours pk? Its still for sale....
