pipe and silencer, probably gearing swap, and some petro. Not necessarily in that order. No, you won't get hurt from plug wire. It is high voltage DC. Ac with amps kills you. Besides thats kinda my point. There was no spark. The air, heat and compresion will run the motor. Thats why you have to stop air flow. Fuel bowl takes too long to run out.

Yep a lean run away motor will not die from pulling the plug wire and while it won't kill you I have seen people do it and look like they were hit by a low power tazzer gun. If you got a good set of gloves on or a rag handy you can kill it or atleast bring the revs way down by blocking the silencer outlet.

About the "High voltage DC wont kill you thing".  Yes, it could and will under the right circumstances.  It only takes 1/10 of an amp or 100 milliamps to stop your heart.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_shock
Fear the government that fears your gun.

Can and likely are wayy different, Uzi. Ya, you could get shocked and jerk violently and smash your head into something sharp or already have a bad ticker, but for the most part, Dc is low amperage. That is what is in stun guns, tasers and ignition coils. In middle school we made shockers with 9v battery and transformers, and you can shock someone with the old capacitors in auto ignitions, but I do agree that its not pleasant. But if your bike is running wide open, its probably not going to help anyway. Especially, if you have been holding the button for the last ten seconds.

would you get electrocuted if you tried to pull the plug cap off to stop the engine ?

I had a problem with an OLD '87 KDX200 I had after crossing a large creek, I was soaking wet and had the same issue, after revving to the moon, decided to remove the plug had the jesus shocked out of me. So, yes, it happens.
