I have to call this mod a complete success, made from scraps on hand and $10 for some paint. I was examining it the other night and it looks like the day I built it. No smell, chips of cracks, paint is still on. Indestructible. As KX66 pointed out, a guy might want to build a beefier lower pipe mount to take any stress away from the cylinder casting where the pipe inserts. I never did. Cam.
