good evening from germany,

i would like to ask if there is anyone who could give me a portmap from a kx500. i`ve searched a few hours in google, but sadly i found nothing.

so, if there is anyone who`s got a picture or something, please post it here or send me a pm.

well, if i had one of these beasts, i would definately do that. but actually i don`t have one and i just need some of those cylinders :)

are there big differences through the years? i think the one i found, is aluminium/steel combination? are there cylinders with "nicasil"?

Porting isn't a easy thing!!!! It doesn't only require port height or width. Port dymension and surface is just as important, if not more!!!!! Matching the cilinder and case. Also a place to find some horses.

well, i`m not going to port a kx500 :)

i`m studying automotive engineering and i`m trying to build a 2stroke (DI) hybrid engine as 2L V4 or 3L V6. in this case, the kx500 should be the best compromise between stroke and bore with its 86x86.

so any input in changes of the cylinder are highly appreciated

If you send me your e-mail address via personal message I can send you a portmap I made of my 91 model.
It needs measurements added but you can see which ports are which easy enough.

Oh the only thing is that for some reason I have dificulties accessing this site, my computer gets to the front page and freezes up so it might take a day or so to get it to you.
