Main Jet and needle position.
« on: July 31, 2007, 08:48:05 AM »
Hi Everyone the KX 500 is running great and the fuel mix is great, My spark plug is a  tan color and I believe the fuel mix is correct.
However I have the needle dropped down to the last clip position. I am running a 168 main jet. I have just ordered a 165 main jet and was wondering what clip position to try first to obtain the same mixture.
I know how to do the trial and error method, but was hoping someone has figured out the correlation between jet size and needle position.
Alan you may want to move this to "jetting again and again"
If anyone has an opinion please reply.
I now have  run over three hundred gallons of fuel through this 04 kx500 and I love this bike.  Thanks John
Spring is here and the Mighty 500 wants to ride.
