terrible ebay seller
« on: May 08, 2007, 03:18:55 AM »
hey guys, i just wanted to warn everybody about a horrible ebay bike parts seller that i unfortunately am trying to deal with. i bought a kx wheel from this guy, and after a week i wanted to know the status(was it shipped,etc..) when the guy finally did respond he was a total JACKASS! sorry, it had to be said. the seller does business as the name "badbettypa". i wouldn't buy from him unless you like getting the shaft and fighting to get the item you paid for. just a warning,  MADDOGGY

also had a bad experience with a seller goes by "extreme_shop". sells brake pads, discs, and stuff. alot of feedback, but not all of it good. the only contact I got from the guy was retaliatory feedback. he said I was hard to contact. I guess thats because he doesn't answer ebay message, email, or phone calls.....

brandon, i've seen that name a couple of times on ebay. thanks for the warning, i'll steer clear of that seller. I just don't get it. if you are going to be a seller then treat your customers right and they might come back a second time. it can't be that hard to sell the right way on ebay. dang it! it just ticks me off to have to screw around and fight to get something you paid for. :x  &%#$@ *!^&%!!! i feel a tiny bit better now. :-D

I've gotten a lot of stuff on there. never had any problem with anybody before, but this was a power seller with like 11000 feedbacks...you'd think they would be a little better of a customer service oriented seller.

Even thought of selling extreme_shop sucks stickers on ebay. I mean really, how do you leave negative feedback on somebody that pays you on time?

ebay is a definate gamble guys. Every time we look for deals on there its a roll of the dice. Kaws have so many changes from year to year and the condition of used parts is so hard to examine on a picture, that I'm not sure how to get a good deal. I bought my k5 on ebay, and winning the auction for it was something like winning a lottery, but after getting her home and riding it, I realized what a gamble it was. I got a harsh reality check on parts availability, ebay scammers, and how some riders are lacking in basic maintenance. Seals, bearings, reeds...... everything basically was shot. It took all winter and alot of determination to restore it to a safe and raceable bike. Every time I found a new issue, I thought about that ebay and the 4 hour drive to pick up the bike. In my mind, noone could wear out that many things on a 500, but with parts becoming harder to find where else do you get parts? Right now, I need the right triple clamp for it, black plastic, graphics, and a set of wheelie bars!!!
Anytime I need Oem or aftermarket parts, I order from Motosport Outlet (free 2-day ship. on $100 or more), or Midwest Action Cycle, who know bikes and are excellent w/customer service, and both stock alot of parts. ( no gambles, just an occasional back order)
Unfortunately, noone is stocking black plastic, older style graphics, triple clamps or wheelie bars!!!!

You have to look at sellers with an open mind.  If you are going for a killer deal don't expect killer service.  If I win something for some ridiculous price I could care less if they guy takes 3 weeks to ship it.  I actually expect slow shipping and wouldn't expect any better.  If it is better then great.  You can't have your cake and eat it too.  If you are paying average price then you should get average service.  I personally have had one problem and it was with some d-bag kids but they were kids and I ended getting a bike I did not want for free because I got a hold of their parents who had no idea what was going on.  They had 0 feedback so I knew I was taking a risk.  People with tons of feedback and several negatives like "slow shipper" are o.k with me because you know what to expect and they are the ones that are giving good deals usually.  READ FEEDBACKS, most sellers get the same type of comment for their negatives and go in knowing what you are dealing with.  I don't give negatives for slow ships in most cases.  I just picked up a 500 manual for 9.50 with shipping and it took two weeks to get it.  Well worth the wait.

the problem that i am having is that the seller will not tell me where my item is and they give me fake ups tracking #'s. i always check the sellers feedback and will not purchase an item unless they have over 95% positive. this seller 95.3% positive. should have been ok but wasn't. if you email the seller then you should get a response its not that hard to shoot the buyer a quick email with an honest answer about something they bought. slow shipping isn't a big deal if you know it going into the transaction. getting bent over the barrel should not be part of an ebay purchase, but unfortunately sometimes it is. the reason i started this thread is so my fellow kx5ers don't get screwed by this seller-(badbettypa). just a warning for you guys cause i care,  MADDOGGY

It's only been a week.  Give the guy some time.  Like I said a good deal is worth waiting 3 weeks for them to ship.  If you can't wait go buy OEM.  Patience grasshoppa :p

patience my butt! its been over 2 weeks, but the thing that really ticks me off is the lies. i just want honest answers. if it takes 2 weeks then fine, but i want an answer when i ask the seller where the item is. if i wanted to simply donate money to somebody then i'd probably just give more to my church. ok, deep breaths now and i'll count to ten.........   MADDOGGY

I deal a lot on ebay both selling and buying but mostly selling.  I have bought stuff from people and they sometime ship very fast and other times not so fast.  I've run into snags when it comes to shipping.  I have had both UPS and USPS lose packages and have had to bite the bullet and replace the stuff out of my pocket.  Right now I'm doing pre-orders on a new graphic line that was originally scheduled to be released today.  The die cut machine took a crap and is being fixed and now the release date has to be puhed back a week or two.  I had a lot of people pre-order and contacted everyone who bought one yesterday and offered a free shirt if they are willing to keep their order or a full refund.  I hope they keep their orders becuase if they do they are already at the top of the order list and it is a long list.  If they cancel and re-order once they are released they will dropto the bottom of the list.  I always tret people more than fair and make sure they have a positive experience.  I myself have been ripped off $700 from a company in California called Impure Industries/Impure Clothing the guy's anme is Shain West.  Look out for them on MySpace.
