cylinder head mod 98 kx250
« on: May 25, 2015, 08:29:39 PM »
Does anyone have knowledge or experience with head modification?  I want to raise the compression.  What is the optimum squish on this engine?  Also I want to add a compression release, is that possible?  This modification is for flat track racing.

Bump........ i wouldnt mind information about this topic. I currently have a 95 head fitted to a 97 kx250 in my parts box i also have a worn 97 kx250 head i could turn down in a lathe and a stock 98 head.

I wouldnt mind going up in compression and gaining some over rev as this bike has a meaty midrange powerband but it signs off way to soon.

According to a tuner I asked back in 98 they run 1 - 1.2mm squishband with a thin base and head gasket. Also used a mix of av gas and 98 octane. 49hp atw
