I like the big wide strap...mine uses two narrower rubber encased straps so that both mounts are used....

it would be a good idea to wrap the silencer with black electrical tape or something similar where the strap goes around it...because sand/dirt will get in behind there, and the strap will wear into the carbon fiber....I found this out just a couple weeks ago when I pulled my bike apart to do linkage/shock bearings.

take some close-up pics of your silencer if you get a chance....I'd like to see how it mounts up compared to my carbon fiber silencer.





That pipe and silencer are beautiful.  It's like dirt bike art!
Perhaps I have a dirt bike addiction?

it's a '99-'02 KX250 rear fender....with an '03 front fender...this is how it looks as of now...

here's the thread for modifying the rear fenders...choice of '92-'93 KX250 rear, or the '99-'02 KX250...I myself like the '99-'02 better...other members have even used an '05 rear.

Man that bike is pretty Foxx.  Hang on to it as long as you can.

so far....
-frame painted (need to redo)
-upgraded 46mm forks done by race tech
-race tech rear shock
-renthal twin wall cr high handlebars
-scalvini pipe and carbon silencer
-IMS wide pegs
-2 piece clutch cover
-efm autoclutch w/barnett kevlar and steel plates
-gold renthal oring chain
-ceet seat
-170mm gaffer front rotor
-steel braided (honda) front brake line

is this realy an 89? forks swingarm and brakes are all 97 and newer parts..
big 2 stroke bikes are weapons for real men, who don´t fear death or devil. ;O)

That is SWEET! I just picked up an 89 and am getting it ready for the track. Can you tell me what your forks came off of, just curious. I'm going to break my stock forks down and rebuild and see how they do before I change anything. Also where did you pick up those graphics? I Likeee. Hoping mine comes out as nice as yours.

thank you. yes i went with gold valves. at first i thought i went a little overboard and it was too stiff, but after getting really comfortable with the bike I think it is perfect.
On a side note... I wish I would've went with ~2008 yamaha forks and front end. Thats how Sean Colliers 500 is set up.
The 04 kawasaki forks are great, dont get me wrong, but take 20 ounces of oil per side vs. a modern fork at about 8. and i could swap between my 450 yamaha (brakes, rotor, wheel, etc)

nice bike! colliers has the regular fork btw, I dunno howd you would pull that off. here is his fork.

looks like Yamaha guards on it, bout it!

so the bike with the 08 yamaha forks is I guess his last years bike (gone, maybe sold). you are right, that one has stock... but by the 2 stroke invitational he upgraded to 15 kx450 forks

Thanks! Forks and triple clamps were off a 97. (the 02 roller i bought came later)

Yea i plan on doing the same, just get a stem from emig racing and you can run the newer forks and triples. oh and i called fmf on that pipe and silencer he had, be so easy for them to make more to sell but they wouldnt even act interested in selling me one. Hell ive been sponsored by them since 2002 also.
