2000 KX 125 Regulator-Voltage
« on: September 24, 2014, 06:34:25 AM »
So my bike came without this Regulator-Voltage part #21066. In it's place came the black spacer in my photo below on the frame.

In my rebuild, will my bike require this part? It ran when it didn't have it.

CDI's are expensive.   Even if the regulator wasn't there and the bike ran, I still wouldn't chance it.

Partzilla has it listed for $54.62 as if today.   http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/kawasaki/KP-21066-1123.html
Several used ones on Ebay if you trust them: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=21066-1123&_nkw=21066-1123

Thanks! I'll definitely just pick up a new OEM one when the time comes.

What does it even do?

it controls the amount of voltage that's flowing through the circuit...
for a circuit to function properly, the voltage needs to be within a few percentage points of a specific value...they control the voltage that is applied to a circuit by taking an unsuitable voltage and changing it so the circuit can use it properly....
hope that didn't confuse you....but as stated earlier, yeah you want it installed!

Excuse me, ma'am...but you've got extremely nice legs!!!...what time do they open???                                                                                                               https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8tCgN3aryQ
