« on: June 08, 2014, 01:35:33 PM »
Hey guys, has anyone put a 144 kit on a KX 125 ? I have a 1999  I 've been thinking of Eric Gorr for the kit. Is it worth $600 ?

The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

Eric gorr could screw up a wet dream. Let alone bike parts.    Go see Todd at Pinsonnault Racing

Hey dude, I did the conversion.... awesome.
Here's what I did.
First, I went the Athena kit. Why? These cylinders and matched head are totally different castings, with larger water jackets. You MUST split the cases and grind front and rear castings for piston clearance. While there, we did a full match port job. Next, I used a stroker crank shaft, so according to calculations it's now 162cc.  It takes time to dial in the carb, but worth it.  I added a Scalvini pipe, but have switched to FMF for race day, it's noticeably stronger.  The bike is a totally different machine.  If you have the suspension set properly, this is unstoppable.

The crank came from eBay, of all places! USA, can't remember the cost, but it was up there.  Not exactly what brand.... d**n.. 'Hot Rods' Rod and bearing kit... amazing machining.
