Be sure to use a 6 point socket...
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

I was...read somewhere it is a 5.5mm...dude made the exact same mistake as me...he then hammered a 5.5mm 6 point onto the nut and got it out....try that tomorrow...wish me luck...

you can check this thread out...1st page is about the same problem you're having.

worst case, you might have to find a used slide, or new.

I had this problem last spring and posted a 5.5 mm socket fix over on thumper talk. If you try it be extremely careful handling the needle and slide. I managed to hold it in my hand and gently tap the 5.5 socket and short extension onto the damaged 6mm nut with a jewelers hammer. It actually went quite easily. Once it was removed I cleaned it up to 5.5mm with a Dremel tool and used anti seize to reassemble it. It all worked fine for me but if I ever sell it the next owner may be puzzled.

Good to hear you fixed it. There are some real wizards here, if you have problems just search, read, or ask. Usually someone's been there and done it.
