New project
« on: May 10, 2014, 11:27:43 AM »

My uncle just picked this bike up at a garage sell by his house paid $185 for it. The husband of the lady he bought it from was the original owner and its been sitting in their garage for 20 plus years according to her. He kicked it over and its not locked up and said it seems like its got good compression.  Its a 77 tt500 doesnt have any dents in the tank and everything seems to be there going to be his restoration project.

Good Deal  That dentless tank is worth what you paid. I have had an 80 model XT500 since 1984. Many mods. It is the one bike I will never sell. Old and slow by todays standards , but my old XT makes my smile from ear to ear. I have some parts if you run into something you cant find, hit me up.

Went and looked it over my self and everything's there but its pretty rough you can definitely tell its been sitting forever. Looks like the shock mounts on the swing arm are stripped out but all in all its not in to bad of shape especially for being 37 years old. Itll be a cool project. Thanks for the links Foxx4 going to show him all of those and will probably be hitting  you up for some parts in the near future RD. He already has a long list of parts he's ordering for it.

no problem...I'm sure there's plenty more NOS stuff to be found if one was to really spend some time searching the web.
Make sure he takes plenty of pics of the progress! :-D
