Odd question kx 125
« on: December 03, 2014, 06:02:45 AM »
I just picked up a 98 KX 125 for my GF. When I test rode it and inspected it there were no leaks in the crankcase. opened the door to the garage the next day and there was a nice puddle under the bike. The oil is clear and has about the same viscosity as my reg oil. I pulled the clutch cover and the gasket looked well seated all around but it looks like the oil was seeping through the gasket it is saturated.
I was wondering if there was an oil that would dissolve a gasket? maybe he put in reg mineral oil? I am stumped!!!

Any help would be appreciated.

it sounds like you found the problem...providing the oil drain plug passes inspection. and there's no cracks in the case(s).
never heard of oil eating a gasket before :?...you would think it would be eating up the seals too if that were the case.
Get a Cometic gasket to replace the old one....they're a rubber-ized coated alloy gasket that really seals things up nice, and they are re-useable.
Excuse me, ma'am...but you've got extremely nice legs!!!...what time do they open???                                                                                                               https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8tCgN3aryQ
