Title: My KX500AF Project
Post by: cr37 on January 11, 2009, 07:54:20 AM
I've been building this bike for the last 3 month, just got it together yesterday rode it up and down the street now I need to go to ride the dirt! I'm excited. I have to do a few more things and buy some more goodies and I'll be done.

Nice job! How was the pipe clearance against the coolant line off the cylinder? Looks to be an AJ pipe, but you didn't flip the elbow upside down and use his hose there. Just curious is all. I like the '75 style look you have goin' also.  :-D

The pipe is a AJ pipe, clearence is tight, I've got a CV4 hose with header wrap on it but I'm not done yet.

Thats real nice, is it a kxf250 or 450 chassis?

How did you get around the radiators? I'm thinking of getting some made to fit! :(

I'm using 450 rads, all I did to them was move the left bottom hose fitting

Nice look. Probably good you didn't go all the way and run your pipe under the bottom of the frame  :-D

CR37, that looks great. I am in the middle of my project (2006 450 and 1992 500). I am waiting for my pipe and silencer from AJ and the cutting/welding begins. I am interested in pictures for sure as any sugguestions and pointers are a plus. The radiator hose routing and parts are going to be another obstacle to come as well as the radiators.
You said that you just had to move the bottom rad hose fitting. It looks like I must shorten the left one. How did you get around this?
Thanks
DW

I really like the white plastic, I think I'm going to do all white or all black for my conversion.
