I'm a new member to this forum. I've ridden / raced dirt bikes my whole life. Spent most of the last 10 years on 500's. I ride a CR500AF nowadays, but I grew up riding KX's. Still have the '89 KX I raced in high school. :-D
Well my AF is such an amazing bike I've been getting on my Dad's butt to help me AF the Kawi. It's got such a good motor but I won't so much as touch it now that I've got a Service Honda. I figured by now KX riders would be jumping all over the opportunity to AF their 500's too.
So I'll be checking in a bit to snoop around and look for info. It sure would be good to pull the KX out of retirement and put the motor to good use. In a KXF chassis!
My junior year, practicing at the local MX track. My Dad on the right....he's still smoking fast!

Welcome to the site. They are a few guys here that have turned the 450 f into a open class bike. Look around and you will find what you need.

Thanks guys. I see there are a couple guys doing this now. I guess it's still pretty early to see too many AF projects just yet.
You all better get with it! Don't let me be the next to post pics on here of my reborn '89 500 :-D

MICK, I have the roller KX450F chasis when you are ready to make a dream a reality. No one else wants it as of right now.

It's not that I don't want it. Would love to have it. I'm still getting over my K5 chewing on me and not working for all of 2005. 13 months to be correct. Just now getting into the black.
The reason people are just now making KX500AF's is beacuse they just quit making the K5 2 years ago. Plus Kawasaki does not sell a compleat engine like Honda does to Service Honda. Honda quit making the CR500 a number of years ago. Service Honda also makes a TRX 400EX with the 250R 2 stroke. My friend has 2 original 250R's I can just imagine how cool the 400EX would be with the 250R motor.
