Title: 1989 kx250 kickstart lever replacement interchangeability?

hello, i am working on a 1989 kx250, the splines on the kickstart lever are stripped.  i was wondering if anyone had any info on replacing it.  the factory part is unavailable and i cannot locate one on ebay.  i can get a 1990 kickstart lever but i dont know if it will work.  any info on replacement or repair would be great, thanks.

unless they changed the shaft size , there might be a change of shape between the 2 models , it should be right , i would give it a go you can all ways sell it if not just make sure you let let the site know your findings.
