2000 kx125 set up for a while put a new top end and installed a new crank put bike back together, rode bike shifts great no problems but one you cut bike off and start to push it into shop the rear wheel locks up it is in neutral made sure of that, you can roll the bike backwards no problem and tire will spin freely on the stand it has got me scratching my head.

When it locks up, can you pull in the clutch and move it? Is anything rubbing or making noises when it locks up?
-
Sounds like it's not staying in neutral? Umberto may be onto something!
-
It will make a clicking noise just before it does it but I don't explain why if freewheels when you push it backwards I would think if it jumped out of neutral it would be the same forward or backwards....
-
And pulling the clutch in does not help either

I can see why this one has your stumped. It's a really unusual problem. Just a few more questions for you: When it makes the clicking noise, does the shifter move? Have you tried locking the wheel up, and then playing with the shifter to see what gear it is in? When you roll it backwards, does it free it up to go forwards, or does it stay locked up?

The site won’t host videos, but you can post to YouTube and link using the hyperlink globe.

You might try taking your chain off and see if it still does it. If so, your wheel bearings are wadded up.

Thanks will let you know the outcome or what other problem I encounter.

Ok fellows I want to thank you for the advice and help given but after I tore the bike back down I found that I left a thrust washer out that goes behind the clutch basket while assembling the engine, works like a charm now thanks again!

Glad you got it figured out! I would have never guessed the clutch basket thrust washer!
