Title: JT Engine works 2001 RM250 bike build
Post by: sandblaster on April 06, 2016, 04:29:21 PM
So Jason (JT) has a 01 RM250 he is building in trade for a KX500..
The customer is paying for all the parts, Jason is doing all the work.
The bike was stripped, powder coated, and the engine completely rebuilt.
Jason is putting it back together...
I don't have pics of the engine build but you can rest assured that if Jason did it, it was meticulous  :-D

Every bearing, washer, seal, bushing, o-ring, seal, gasket, spring, ect ect has been replaced in the engine and chassis...
Even though it's not a Kawi I think the customer is going to be very happy.
Unless he want's to ride it in the sand...I hate the way these RM's of this chassis series turn in the sand...
Then again when compared to a K5 in the sand it's like comparing a turd to a diamond

He just did the second heat cycle tonight.
I'll see if I can get some pics tomorrow.
It looks pretty good but he is waiting for the tank graphics to come in due to the tank looking so bad..

The customer is coming to pick the bike up tonight so I guess I better post a update...
Done...  :-D
Four heat cycles done... I guess that will be good enough..
The customer will have to finish the break in..
