I just bought a brand new 2013 KX250F on Ebay that showed up in the crate. I bought it with the intentions of turning it into a 500af. I just found a 2001 kx 500 that I picked up for the motor. How difficult is this project going to be? There is a shop in my town that builds kits to make Honda 500 AFs. They have expressed interest in making a kit for green bikes. They have agreed to do the project for me but seem a little hesitant to cut apart a brand new bike. Any advice on pipes, radiators, air boots, head stays, mounts, frame modifications would be much appreciated! Also any knowledge of what parts that will be needed. Or you can just simply tell me it is a bad idea and I will let my wife ride the 250! LOL

CP just registered as a member here earlier this week.
Judging from the CR conversions I would let them do it as long as you were discounted some for being a Guinea Pig
I'm sure they are very capable.
Besides getting another vender for the mighty green bikes... I say DO IT!

That's pretty dang funny! I am very confident in their work and am very excited to see how this project goes. I am just putting some feelers out there to gather as much knowledge as I can and possibly save some trial and error.

Do it! You will never regret a 500 with modern handling.
